RibHillis-photo Rib Hillis is a television host, actor, model, and home improvement expert. After two seasons as part of the design team on the Emmy Award winning “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” Rib will next star on A&E’s upcoming “$100 Makeover.” Previously, Rib hosted two other home improvement shows, “Model Citizen” and “Get a Grip,” and was featured on AOL’s “Minute Fixes” giving homeowners solutions to common household issues.

Rib’s hosting skills have also garnered attention outside of the home improvement genre. ABC.com recently tapped him to interview some of music’s biggest names during Dick Clark’s “Rockin’ New Year’s Eve,” and TV Guide Network had him host two specials, “Building the Hollywood Body” and “Hollywood’s Sexiest Bodies.” Rib is also an accomplished actor, and recently starred in “Taos,” a film that was selected for two international film festivals and was the winner of the Santa Fe film festival. He also had a lead role in the feature film “Propiedad Ajena,” which was featured in the Paris Latin Film Festival. Rib got his start in acting on the ABC soap opera “Port Charles” and has since appeared in dozens of television shows, such as “Ugly Betty,” “Two and a Half Men,” “CSI,” “America’s Next Top Model.” and “CSI: Miami.”

In addition, Rib is a much sought-after model, working in Milan, Paris, Barcelona, London, Sydney, New York, Miami and Los Angeles for such publications as Uomo Vogue, GQ, Esquire, and Men's Health, not to mention countless national and international commercials.

Rib is the proud father of twins, Dane and Hannah Rose, whom he loves chasing around the Southern California surf. His other passions/hobbies include bull riding, rock climbing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, cooking, and riding motorcycles. Rib also likes to keep busy volunteering and has served as a spokesperson for the Be The Match Foundation and the National Marrow Donor Program.

First Honoree

jen1 JENNIFER JONES AUSTIN is a fierce and accomplished advocate for children and families, she has dedicated herself for nearly 20 years professionally as an attorney in the private and public sectors. Her goal going into law school was to become a corporate attorney, but the pull of social issues concerning children and families was too great to resist. Jen followed her passion. Throughout her career she has worked to enhance the lives of disenfranchised children and their families, working to improve their chances for better health, education and a safe, living environment. Jennifer's efforts have benefited thousands of people across New York State and beyond.

Jennifer joined the United Way of New York City in January 2008 as the Senior Vice President of Community Investment. Prior to joining UWNYC, Jen served as New York City's first Family Services Coordinator, a position to which she was appointed by Mayor Bloomberg after four years as a Deputy Commissioner in the City's Administration for Children's Services. As Family Services Coordinator, she was responsible for leading multiple interagency initiatives for children and families. She also played a lead coordination role in developing and advancing the Mayor's anti-poverty initiatives. She also served as Civil Rights Deputy Bureau Chief for Policy, Legislation and Public Outreach for then-Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, and as the Vice President of Development for LearnNow/Edison Schools Inc.

Second Honoree

Milton Schwartz-Photo Milton Schwartz is a a partner of Grant, Herrmann, Schwartz & Klinger LLP, an international law firm in New York, graduated from New York University School of Law having obtained his law degree in 1955 and his Master of Laws degree in 1960. He was for many years Adjunct Professor of Comparative and Foreign Law at New York University School of Law.

He served for a number of years as Chairman of the Latin American Law Committee of the American Bar Association, President of the American Foreign Law Association, President of the Ecuadorian American Association and holds positions in related organizations. He is the author of numerous published works on comparative, foreign and Latin American law. He is a trustee of the Mex-Am Cultural Foundation.

a_k3 It was 40 years ago that Alive N Kickin' was formed, and with the help of Tommy James recorded a song by the name of "Tighter And Tighter". In 1970, "Tighter And Tighter" climbed the Billboard charts on it's way to becoming a number one hit. The success of that smash single launched a career that has spanned four decades.

During the 70's, The group toured with some of the biggest names of that era, including Chicago, The Five Stairsteps, Frank Zappa, Seals and Crofts, Mott The Hoople, and Rare Earth. The band appeared on such national television shows as "Dick Clark's American Bandstand" and the "Mike Douglas Show". The band has played such major venues as Madison Square Garden, the Baltimore Civic Center, and the Steel Pier, in Atlantic City.
